Principle:

The boiling point of wine is dependent on the alcohol content and barometric pressure. A standardize wine or distilled water is tested and the boiling point is noted to compensate for barometric pressure. By measuring the boiling point of the sample you can accurately determine the alcohol within 0.1% volume.
